Description: *The Twelve for Children and Families has a "Meet & Greet, Information Hour" on Tuesday, October 10th from 10am - 11am and at 6pm - 7pm at their Massillon Office, 619 Tremont Ave SW, 44647. Get answers to your questions and learn more about becoming a Foster/Adopt Home. We are in need of Foster Families to provide a home for children. You will make a difference in their lives.

If you decide to continue the 36 hours of State mandated Pre-service Training to become a foster or adoptive parent, it will also be held at the local Massillon Office located at 619 Tremont Avenue SW, Massillon, Ohio 44647 at no cost to you.

The office is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM M-F except the lunch hour (12:30pm to 1:30pm). You are welcomed to leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible.

Our Fall Pre-Service training classes are scheduled to begin soon with Session One, Orientation. The day and time will be determined by those who are interested in starting. Sessions from 6:00 to 9:00pm 3-hours two times a week have worked best.

The State of Ohio requires 36 hours of training to become licensed as a foster parent. The Twelve for Children and Families is a private, non-profit, social service agency providing a variety of services to children and families. The agency has been operating in Massillon since 1965.

Module III - Child Development

Module IV - Trauma and its Effects

Module V - Child Sexual Abuse

Module VI - Minimizing the Trauma of Placement

Module VII - Transcending Differences in Placement

Module VIII - Helping the Child Manage Emotions and Behaviors

Module IV - Understanding Primary Families

Module X - Effects of Care giving on the Care giving Family

Module XI - Long Term Separation

Module XII - Post Adoption Issues for Families

Session 13 - Make-up Day

Session 14 - Adult/Infant/Child CPR & First Aid
